So after figuring this at a very average interest rate of 7% and a down payment of 10% or $3,500 the payment would come out to be $549.83 a month! Compare that to the “average monthly Car payment for new cars is $667” -Bankrate, and the “average car insurance rate of about $136 per month” -Bankrate and the average car's fuel economy of “24.2”- U.S. Department of Energy & Renewable Energy at the same cost per gallon and mileage and you will get $0.15 per miles at 1,125 miles is $168.75 a month. For a total of $971.75! Keep in mind these are all just averages, but that looks like an average savings of $159.42 a month for a brand new and fully loaded vehicle!
